Due to the recent government advice on the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and social distancing for at-risk groups it has been decided that all of our services will be adjusted to enable us to continue to provide a service, albeit and reduced service.
Befriending tasks will now be carried out via a Telephone Befriending Service with volunteers contacting as many of our members as possible on a daily basis to chat, offer reassurance and confirm that they are well.
Transport tasks will also stop and instead we will soon hopefully be able to offer service to collect essential shopping items.
Other tasks will also have to be put on hold and considered on a task by task basis.
We will be working alongside other village groups to help as many people as we can over the next few weeks of uncertainty.
BGNS Tasks completed 1st December 2019 – 31st May 2020
BGNS and Barrow Footpaths Group Garden Makeover
Barrow Good Neighbour Scheme received a request for help in a garden after recent poor health was preventing a family from completing work to convert a previously mature front garden into a more manageable low maintenance space.
This was a large project to undertake so Volunteers from Barrow Footpaths Group were asked to provide some additional support.
Thanks again to our amazing Volunteers from Barrow Good Neighbour Scheme and Barrow Footpaths Group
